The American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo is offering two graduate programs:
Because all AUB Mediterraneo programs are cohort-based, we admit students only once a year, in the fall term.
Requirements for admission to graduate programs at the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo are as follows:
- Official transcripts from all institutions previously attended providing a complete record of study.
- Statement of purpose.
- Resume or CV
- English language requirement (upon admission and prior to matriculation).
English Language Requirement
Students who have graduated from the American University of Beirut or from a recognized college or university in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand are exempted from the English language requirement.
All other students applying to master's programs can demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting scores that meet or exceed the minimum score on one of several tests listed below.

- Students are not required to take the GRE and/or GMAT exam to be considered for admission to AUB Mediterraneo. These exams can be used, however, to meet the English language requirement.
- All graduate applicants are requested to demonstrate English language proficiency as soon as possible after receiving their admission decision from AUB Mediterraneo.

Students studying at the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo will benefit from the university's close ties with the AUB campus in Beirut in the form of student exchanges, faculty exchanges, collaborative research projects, and expanded online and hybrid learning opportunities. To further this global mission, all AUB Mediterraneo students must be eligible to travel to Lebanon and will be required to complete a period of residency at AUB in Beirut. This can be done in one of three ways:
- Conduct a project on community-based learning in Beirut
- Complete an internship in Beirut
- Spend one or two academic terms in Beirut
