Philip S. Khoury, PhD
A trustee since 1997, the foregoing chair of the AUB Board of Trustees (from 2009-2024), and a former AUB student ('69 -'70), Khoury is the Ford International Professor of History and vice provost at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is a trustee of Underwriters Laboratories and an Overseer of Koç University in Istanbul. He is trustee emeritus of the National Humanities Center and has served as chairman of the World Peace Foundation, vice chairman of the Trinity College Board of Trustees, and trustee of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Khoury is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and a past president of the Middle East Studies Association. He received the Distinguished AUB Alumni Award in 2009. He is a graduate of Trinity College (AB '71) and Harvard University (PhD '80).
