The American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo) is offering five four-year undergraduate degree programs:
Because all AUB Mediterraneo programs are cohort-based, we admit students only once a year, in the fall term.
Premedical studies at AUB Mediterraneo
Students who are interested in preparing for MD programs that follow the American model for medical education, including the Doctor of Medicine program at AUB’s Faculty of Medicine, can fulfil some premedical requirements by taking appropriate science, English, social sciences, and/or humanities courses at AUB Mediterraneo. Laboratory courses or courses that have a laboratory component can be taken at the AUB campus in Beirut while the student is fulfilling his/her AUB residency requirement (see below) in Lebanon. A timeline and study plan for pre-medical studies (including the selection of pre-medical courses) should be developed with the support of the academic adviser as soon as possible after the student’s enrolment at the university. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the courses they take at AUB Mediterraneo will meet the requirements of MD programs other than the one offered by AUB.

Regular Admission
Regular admission is competitive and is based equally on high school (Grades 10 & 11) transcripts (50%) and entrance exam scores (50%).
There are no specific cut-off scores/grades. The higher the student's scores/grades, the better the chances of being admitted.
When evaluating high school transcripts, we compare students to the class average and to the average of other applicants from the same school. Grade 12 records do not affect the admission decision (since students usually apply at the beginning of grade 12).
Early Admission
Students who are accepted for early admission (non-binding) automatically receive an Early Admission Merit Scholarship.
Applications for early admission that don't meet the following early admission criteria will automatically be considered based on the regular admission criteria.
Early Admission Criteria:
-
Submit the undergraduate first-year application by the early admission deadline.
-
Be ranked in the top 25 percent of your class in Grades 10 and 11.
-
Achieve the minimum score in the required entrance exam which can be any of the exams listed in the table below. *

Linking to the American University of Beirut in Beirut
Students studying at the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo will benefit from the university's close ties with the AUB campus in Beirut in the form of student exchanges, faculty exchanges, collaborative research projects, and expanded online and hybrid learning opportunities. AUB Mediterraneo bases its educational philosophy and practices on the American liberal arts model of higher education. The university supports freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, life-long learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership. As a twin campus of the American University of Beirut, it works to develop students who are thoughtful, tolerant, and engaged global citizens.
To further this global mission, all AUB Mediterraneo students must be eligible to travel to Lebanon and will be required to complete a period of residency at AUB in Beirut. This can be done in one of three ways:
-
Conduct a project on community-based learning in Beirut
-
Complete an internship in Beirut
-
Spend one or two academic terms in Beirut
