June 17, 2025 – Pafos, Cyprus - The American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo) is pleased to announce the launch of a new undergraduate degree program: the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), starting fall 2025.

The new program offers an integrated approach, blending computer science foundations with advanced engineering applications. Students will gain a deep theoretical knowledge while developing practical expertise in software development, hardware design, systems engineering, and hardware-software integration; skills that are increasingly in demand in today’s technology-driven world.

“The launch of the Computer Science and Engineering program reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding and diversifying our academic offerings to meet the evolving needs of students and global industries,” said Dr. Wassim El Hajj, rector of AUB Mediterraneo. “This is part of our broader vision to introduce new programs in the coming years, offering prospective students more academic pathways to pursue careers in the fast-evolving technology sector, and providing them with future-ready degrees that combine academic excellence with practical relevance.”

Graduates will acquire advanced problem-solving and quantitative reasoning skills that allow them to analyze complex computing problems and develop integrated software and hardware solutions. The program also emphasizes leadership, ethical decision-making, sustainability practices, and strong communication skills, ensuring that students are prepared to manage real-world engineering projects and present their work effectively.
