Dr. Georgios Charalambous

Dr. Georgios Charalambous holds an MA in pure mathematics from the University of Cambridge (2012), an MS in theoretical physics (2015) from the University of Lancaster and has completed his doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge in 2024. He is a fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications and a recipient of the David Astley and Alan Talbot Prizes. He conducts research in algebraic geometry using categorical tools, with special focus on the representation theory of group schemes and stacks via Tannakian categories. Charalambos is actively engaged with the Cyprus Mathematical Society and with the Cambridge-Beijing Science Initiative. He is teaching courses in linear algebra and mathematics for the social sciences at the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo). ​
