Mu’taz Al-Sawaf

​A trustee since 2014 and an AUB graduate (BArch ‘74), Al-Sawaf is an executive board member of the Saudi Binladin Group and the managing director for the Architecture and Building Construction Division (ABCD). There he has managed and executed many important construction projects located in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa. In 1977, Al-Sawaf founded Arabian Roots Group, a construction building materials company, and in 2007 he formed the Construction Products Holding Company. An accomplished illustrator, Al-Sawaf obtained a certification in animation from the Bob Godfrey studio, London in 1975. Established in 2022 and inaugurated in 2023 he provided the necessary financial support for the ‘Rada and Mu’taz Sawaf Center for Arab Comics Studies’ at AUB. Al-Sawaf serves on the boards of several corporations including Mimar Trading Group, Al Maymouna Holding, United Foodstuffs, and Catering Co. in Lebanon. He is also on the Board of Directors for multiple charitable foundations.​​​​
