Dr. Rafaela Vasiliadou

Dr. Rafaela Vasiliadou holds a BS (Hons 2010) in human biology, an MS (2011) in analytical and forensic chemistry, and a PhD (2016) in analytical chemistry, all from the University of Hull (UK). She is an applied chemist with extensive experience in interdisciplinary research, including chemistry, biology, and engineering, as well as in microfluidics. Her main research interests focus on the development of microfluidic electrochemical cells, electrochemical methods, and hyphenated mass spectrometry techniques for applications in chemistry and biology. Vasiliadou has published in prestigious journals, such as Nature Communications, and is a fellow (FHEA) of AdvanceHE. She was a postdoctoral researcher at University College London for three years and has been a lecturer in biological chemistry at the Open University (UK) since 2020. She is currently teaching courses in chemistry and human biology at the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo).
