Ayman Asfari

(1 28 25) A trustee since 2007, Asfari is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Venterra plc., newly created in 2021. Venterra is a global services champion supporting the offshore wind industry’s rapid expansion and leading role in the energy transition. Prior to Venterra, Asfari established Petrofac International in 1991 and developed it into a leading FTSE 100 company. He served as Petrofac Group Chief Executive Officer until December 2020. Asfari is co-Founder and Chairman of the Asfari Foundation, and Founder and Chairman of Madaniya – an umbrella for more than 200 Syrian Civil Society organizations.  He serves on the Panel of Senior Advisors for Chatham House and as a Trustee of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Asfari is a graduate of Villanova University (BS Engineering ‘78) and the University of Pennsylvania (MSc Civil and Urban Engineering ‘80). ​​​​
