Jafar J. Jafar, MD
A trustee since 2009, Jafar is professor of neurosurgery and neurosurgeon-in-chief at New York University Langone Medical Center. He is the director of NYU’s Division of Cerebrovascular Surgery, which he founded. He is also responsible for founding the Center for Cerebrovascular Disease at NYU. He is past associate professor of neurosurgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he established the stroke research laboratory and a cerebral blood flow laboratory. He is a graduate of Pahlavi University, Iran (BS ’70, MD ’76).
