Mu’taz Al-Sawaf
A trustee since 2014 and an AUB graduate (BArch '74), Al-Sawaf is an executive board member of the Saudi Binladin Group and the managing director for the Architecture and Building Construction Division (ABCD). There he has managed and executed many construction projects located in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa, including the Mecca and Medina Haram expansions and the related Hajj facilities; King Abdullah University of Science and Technology; Princess Noura University; King Saud University; the clock tower in Mecca; and the Jeddah and Dakkar airports. An accomplished illustrator, Al-Sawaf obtained a certification in animation from the Bob Godfrey studio, London in 1975. In 1977, Al-Sawaf established Arabian Roots Group, a construction building materials company, and in 2007 he formed the Construction Products Holding Company. Al-Sawaf serves on the boards of several corporations including Mimar Trading Group, Al Maymouna Holding, United Foodstuffs, and Catering Co. in Lebanon. He is also on the Board of Directors for multiple charitable foundations.
