Korantina Homes Establishes Two Student Scholarships at the American University of Beirut - Mediterraneo in Pafos, Cyprus
In a ceremony on May 3, 2024, Korantina Homes Group announced that it was establishing two student scholarships valued at €80,000 at the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo) in Pafos, Cyprus. American University of Beirut (AUB) President Dr. Fadlo R. Khuri and AUB Mediterraneo Rector Dr. Wassim El Hajj expressed their deep gratitude to Korantina Homes Group and its CEO, Mr. George Ioannou, for its generous support. The establishment of these scholarships, which will be awarded to high-achieving AUB Mediterraneo students, demonstrates the strong relationships that AUB Mediterraneo has forged in Cyprus and the impact it is having on the country’s educational landscape.
During the announcement ceremony, Mr. Ioannou congratulated AUB Mediterraneo for its operation in Cyprus and its dedication to offering a high level of academic studies. He stated, “Our group supports and promotes every effort that aims at enhancing knowledge, research, innovation, and of course academic excellence. We believe that these scholarships can become an incentive for students to strive for excellence at AUB Mediterraneo, a twin campus of an internationally recognized and well-established university that is making Cyprus a prestigious regional hub of academic studies.”
President Khuri and Rector El Hajj commented, “We share common values with Korantina Homes, such as the passion for quality and constant evolution.” They also honored Mr. Ioannou by presenting him with a limited-edition memento, which was created to commemorate the establishment and launch of AUB Mediterraneo, a singular event in the history of AUB in Beirut, Lebanon, which was established in 1866.
