AUB Mediterraneo Welcomes the Community to its Campus in Pafos for Open Day 2026

Pafos, Cyprus — April 26, 2026: AUB Mediterraneo welcomed prospective students and their families to its campus in Pafos, Cyprus, on Sunday, April 26, for Open Day, a full day of exploration, interaction, and discovery. A twin campus of the American University of Beirut, AUB Mediterraneo is bringing a globally recognized education that combines academic excellence grounded in the American liberal arts model of education with a contemporary, student-centered focus to Cyprus.

Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to meet faculty members, engage directly with current students, and learn more about the university’s undergraduate and master’s programs. Conversations extended beyond program structures and requirements, focusing on the learning approach, student support, and the broader experience of studying at AUB Mediterraneo.

“Open Day is an opportunity to open our doors to the community and share what AUB Mediterraneo stands for: an education that combines academic excellence with a liberal arts approach, while remaining deeply connected to the local environment,” said Dr. Wassim El Hajj, rector of AUB Mediterraneo. “Our goal is not only to prepare students for successful careers, but to offer an environment where they grow intellectually, personally, and globally, while contributing meaningfully to the educational and cultural landscape of Cyprus.”

Visitors joined guided campus tours to explore key spaces, including high-tech classrooms, specialized computer laboratories, and design studios. These spaces provided a closer look at how the university’s academic environment supports hands-on learning, collaboration, and innovation.

In keeping with the university’s commitment to a well-rounded student experience, Open Day also featured live music performances by the AUB Mediterraneo Music Club, sports activities in collaboration with local partners, and interactive experiences across campus. They all contributed to creating a dynamic and engaging environment for visitors of all age.

A highlight of the day was the opportunity for prospective students to connect directly with members of the Admissions team, gaining clarity on the application process and available pathways. As part of Open Day, the university also introduced a one-day only admissions initiative, allowing prospective students to prefill their application and complete their submission on campus with the guidance of admissions advisors. Applicants who submitted a fully completed application on April 26 were eligible to receive feedback and benefit from a €4,000 tuition reduction for the full duration of their studies, in addition to other financial assistance opportunities. Applicants also received a welcome box after submitting their applications.

Open Day provided a glimpse into the education, values, and environment that define the AUB Mediterraneo experience. The event also brought together members of the wider community, reinforcing AUB Mediterraneo’s role as an institution that is not just globally oriented, but also locally engaged.
