Early Admission at AUB Mediterraneo is designed for strong secondary school students applying for Fall admission who meet the Early Admission criteria.
Students admitted through Early Admission automatically receive the Early Admission Merit Scholarship.
Why Apply Early?
Applying through Early Admission gives qualified students the opportunity to:
- Receive an admission decision earlier
- Secure their place ahead of the Regular Admission cycle
- Automatically qualify for the Early Admission Merit Scholarship
- Have more time to plan tuition, housing, travel, and enrolment
Early Admission Criteria
To be considered for Early Admission, applicants must:
- Submit the undergraduate first-year application by the early admission deadline to the fall term.
- Be ranked in the top 25 percent of your class in Grades 10 and 11.
- Achieve the minimum score in the required entrance exam which can be any of the exams listed in the table below.
Early Merit Scholarships are offered only during the Fall terms and do not apply to students who completed university studies (course work/credits) after their high school graduation.
Minimum Entrance Exam Scores for Early Admissions
These are the minimum scores currently published for Early Admission. Meeting the minimum criteria allows an applicant to be considered but does not replace the requirement to submit a complete application by the deadline.
Only one exam type is considered. If students submit scores from multiple exam types, we will consider the exam type that maximizes the student’s chance for admission.

Important Notes About Entrance Exams
Only one exam type is considered. If students submit scores from multiple exam types, we will consider the exam type that maximizes the student’s chance for admission.
Students must submit the AS-Level standardized exam results for the required subjects before the admission application deadline to complete their application. For the SAT/ACT test, refer to the deadline section below under “Latest SAT/ACT test considered.”
Students with the Cypriot Public Apolytirion may apply as soon as their Apolytirion results are issued in July for the academic year that begins in the same year. Students may also apply earlier, pending the Apolytirion results, to complete their application file.
Admissions Conditions
Once accepted, please note that admission is conditional on the following. Students may not register until they have successfully:
- Successfully met the English language requirement;
- Successfully completed Grade 12 or equivalent; and
- Successfully received the certificate or diploma (recognized by the Ministry of Education of the originating country) on the basis of which admission was sought (example: Lebanese Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate, GCE, etc.)
As such, all admission offers are conditional, and admitted applicants may not register until all three of these conditions are met.
English Language Requirement
Undergraduate applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting satisfactory and valid scores from one of several tests. A score is considered satisfactory if it meets or exceeds the minimum requirement (see below) set by the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo.

All undergraduate applicants are asked to meet the English language requirement as soon as possible after receiving their admission offer from AUB Mediterraneo.

Important Note
SAT and ACT registration deadlines are generally about one month before the test date, so applicants should register early.

What Happens If I Do Not Meet the Early Admission Criteria?
Applications that do not meet all Early Admission criteria will automatically be considered under the Regular Admission criteria. There is no need to submit a second application.
In some cases, students with very strong academic records may still be considered through Early Action, particularly if they meet the academic requirements but cannot provide a class rank, for example because their school does not rank students.
Students admitted through Early Action are also eligible for the Early Admission Merit Scholarship, subject to capacity and available scholarship budget.
This means that an application submitted by the Early Admission deadline may result in Early Admission, Early Action, or Regular Admission, depending on the student’s academic profile and the criteria met.
Admission through Early Admission or Early Action applies only to the program or programs listed in the admission letter.
After Receiving an Early Admission Offer
An Early Admission offer remains conditional until the student has:
- Met the English-language requirement
- Completed Grade 12
- Received the certificate or diploma confirming successful completion of secondary education.
Students must provide evidence that these conditions have been met before registration, normally no later than one month before the beginning of the term.
What Scholarship Will I Receive?
Students accepted through Early Admission automatically receive the 30% Early Admission Merit Scholarship.
