International Students – Residents of Cyprus
Students applying to AUB Mediterraneo with a valid residence permit in the Republic of Cyprus must apply for a renewal of a residence permit due to change of residence status.

Required Documents
See list of required documents below:
- Application form MEDU1.
- Copy of valid passport or other travel document, with a validity covering at least the duration of the intended stay.
- If the third-country national is a minor, a parental authorization or an equivalent document.
- Original Certificate of a Clear Criminal Record from Cyprus.
- Original medical examinations for Hepatitis B and C, AIDS/HIV, Syphilis, and a chest X-ray report for Tuberculosis from a public or private hospital of Cyprus, stamped by a doctor.
- Acceptance letter (provided by the University).
- Certificate of Health Insurance for medical care that covers inpatient and outpatient care and transportation of remains (provided by the University).
- Title deed or accommodation rental agreement.
- Certification by a bank institution in the Republic of Cyprus that certifies that the third-country national has transferred a sufficient amount of money into a personal account, in order to cover living, study, and repatriation expenses for the duration of the intended stay.
- Copy of current/valid residence permit.
- Certified copies of all relevant academic records (and proof of English language knowledge) in English or Greek.
- Proof of payment of at least the €3,000 minimum tuition deposit required by Migration.
- Declaration not to seek asylum.
- Declaration of mailing address.
- Authorization letter.
International non-EU/EEA/Swiss Students
To finalize your enrollment at AUB Mediterraneo, students holding non-EU citizenship are required to:
- Apply for and obtain a student visa (also known as ‘Blue Slip’), before coming to Cyprus
- Apply for a permit of stay for study purposes, once you arrive to Cyprus
How to apply for student visa?
- Prepare the documents required to obtain a student visa for Cyprus.(See list of required documents below. You can also download a comprehensive list of the required documents that includes additional information about what you need to do for each document here.)
- After you have compiled the required documents, share scanned copies with the university for review and further instructions.
- Once you are notified by us that your documents are in good order, send the original documents to this address via guaranteed postal service or courier: American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo

- When you arrive at either Larnaka or Pafos International Airport, you must present the following documents:
- Passport
- Copy of the Student Visa (also known as a “blue slip”)
- Registration letter from AUB Mediterraneo
- Receipt of payment for registration/tuition fees to AUB Mediterraneo
- Cash of at least €2,000 (two thousand Euros)

Please Note/FAQs
- Applying for a student visa is a centralized process and it is approved directly by the headquarters of the Civil Registry and Migration Department in Cyprus rather than at the Embassy of Cyprus in the country of residence.
- It usually takes 4-6 weeks to process a student visa.
- Student visa requirements vary depending on the country of citizenship.
