About the Program

Mission

The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology program provides students with a strong foundation in the scientific study of behavior and mental processes across intrapersonal, interpersonal, and group contexts.

The program prepares students to critically engage with psychological knowledge, develop competence in research methods and scientific inquiry, and apply psychological principles ethically and effectively to real-world individual, community, and societal challenges. In doing so, the program fosters critical thinking, respect for diversity, personal integrity, and civic engagement in accordance with AUB Mediterraneo’s mission.

Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the BS in Psychology program will be able to:

Argue that psychology is an empirical science that seamlessly connects with other social and natural sciences and that it can be clearly delineated from pseudoscience and pop psychology.
Demonstrate an attitude of critical thinking and objectivity with psychological knowledge, in contexts and towards authority.
Demonstrate research skills in research design and validity, data analysis and interpretation, data reporting, and applied ethical standards.
Explain substantive content in key fields of psychology including social and personality psychology, development and abnormal psychology, learning and cognition, as well as perceptual psychology and neuroscience.
Effectively and fluently communicate psychological content in an oral presentation format and in writing (includes use of the Style Manual of the American Psychological Association).
Apply psychological concepts, theories, and research findings in daily life and to solve problems.

These learning outcomes align with the European qualification framework.

What Can I Do With A Psychology Degree?

A Psychology degree prepares graduates for a wide range of career pathways across mental health, education, research, business, and public service. Potential directions include clinical and counseling psychology (typically requiring further postgraduate training), educational psychology, research and academia, social and community services, human resources, marketing and consumer behavior, public policy and NGOs, and criminal justice and rehabilitation.

Across these fields, Psychology graduates are valued for their ability to design and interpret research, analyze data critically, understand human behavior in context, communicate complex ideas clearly, apply ethical reasoning, and combine strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
