Biography
Chara A. Demetriou earned her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Cyprus, specializing in children’s behavioral problems. As part of her graduate studies, she completed a postgraduate course in applied school psychology (University of Cyprus) and a postgraduate course in child and adolescent mental health at the Institute of Child Health (University College London, UK). Her expertise lies in behavioral problems in infant and middle-aged children, the support of the family and school context, and the implementation of effective management and coping practices. Demetriou has published in leading journals such as the European Journal of Developmental Psychology. In addition to her academic work, Demetriou is a registered school and clinical psychologist and an active member of the board of the Cyprus Psychological Association.
