Dr Diana Abbani

Diana Abbani holds a PhD in Arabic Studies and a master’s degree in History and Archaeology from Sorbonne University, as well as a master’s degree in Political Science from Université Paris 8. She earned her bachelor’s degree in History and Archaeology from Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut.

Her research focuses on the cultural and social history of the modern Middle East, particularly sound and media, archives, gender, and the Eastern Mediterranean. She has held postdoctoral fellowships from the Forum Transregionale Studien and the Fritz Thyssen Foundation, as well as a visiting doctoral fellowship at the Orient-Institut Beirut.
